Maybe there's something about apple's scale and supply chain management that helped leverage its price to be practically unbeatable. I think apple knew this when they dished out the ipad2: you immediately see a market leader not just in everything else but also in prices. something tells me that if the competitors could lower prices, they would by now. This type of device is the only Android tablets that is selling and its very debatable if is gaining market share as it isn't even competing in the same market.

After snagging the HP Touchpad for $99 I am still in lalaland hoping for cheap quality tablets but I don't think its realistic. Lenovo A1 does look like a viable option with a good starting price point (They did learn something from HP Touchpad debacle), but I think I will hold out until Amazon strikes the market with cheap but better spec tablets. It will worthwhile to see their price starting point and quality of the tablet.

Does it make any sense at all in your brain, of why a company would continue to develop for an OS that they just liquidated all current devices and cancelled all upcoming devices for?

HP is a billion dollar company there to make money. What incentive do they have to continue to develop this OS? They will get nothing for it since they aren't making the hardware for it.

The only chance they have with webOS is to make it like Android now. Otherwise, it's a done deal. It'll die, and everyone buying the tablets are going to have a pile of junk. Android might get ported over to it, but we'll see how well it works.
