As much as i don't like the way apple products are priced so high, i have to say that their hardware ( maybe and software) is the lead in the pack when it comes to tablet pc. But i still believe that one day they will be taken down. As much as I like Apple products, it looks like Atupele has a point. An Apple iPad 2 32 GB, Wi-Fi + 3G GSM/HSPA costs $729, and costs Apple $336.60 to manufacture. I know there's of course additional factors like labor, transport, taxes, etc but 53.827% is a ridiculous high profit margin for any product or company!

The android tablet is worth exactly what people will pay for it. I don't care if it costs them $12 to manufacture, if people are willing to pay $500 for it, then that is what it is worth. Nothing more, nothing less. And, I don't think 53% to manufacture is all that ridiculous. You do realize there was some sunk cost in development, right? And ongoing development of the free iOS updates, right? I own several iPhones and and iPad 2 because I really like the product. However, I don't see me ever owning a Mac since I don't see the value. That is how the market works.

Yeah, using an android tablet is no dream. I got a xoom tablet and ipad 1 from work about 6 months ago. The xoom has soooo many problems. The two biggest are that 1) Exchange does not work. and 2) that there are so few good tablet apps for the xoom. On the ipad, email on exchange always has worked with not a single problem. Also, there are tens of thousands of dedicated ipad apps that work great.
